Slow Cooking Some Ribs

I’m a big fan of grilling and BBQing food. Usually during the first warm day in April or May I break out the grill and do up some really nice marbled steaks with some seasoning and a backed potato. We’ll typically grill up a few times a month, sticking to a staple of hot dogs and hamburgers or the aforementioned steaks. Ribs are something we do less often just because it takes a lot more time to get them prepared and cooking. So today we finally grilled up two racks of ribs using a slow cooking method. (more…)

Dear Ludacris: You’re A Moron

Earlier today, rapper Ludacris released a song that is supposed to be supporting Obama but does nothing but revisit the old and tired issues his opponents were just waiting to bring back up. Lyrics and the video are after the break. (more…)

BFF.

Karl Rove, the architect of Bush’s Presidential campaigns and the Republican shellacking in 2006 has finally been found in contempt of Congress today. In a 20-14 vote in favor, the House Judiciary Committee which is led by Rep. John Conyers (D) of Michigan had the vote when Karl Rove refused to appear before the committee to testify about the illegal firings of Deparment of Justice prosecutors for political reasons. Obama Snubs Wounded Vets

Leave it to McCain to put the spin on this.

This ad is garbage! I think this is a poor choice to present this current event. Leave it to independent groups of individuals and the press to point this out. Poor choice by McCain’s part to play politics like this. Instead he could have just vaguely made a statement that he “disproved of Obama’s choice”, instead of running a TV ad campaign.

McCain…doesn’t speak for McCain?

John McCain and George Stephanopolous in February.

John McCain and George Stephanopolous in February.

It’s pure political poison for any Republican to utter “new,” “tax,” and “increase” without the word “no” inserted in there somewhere. McCain, for the most part, has been campaigning with that little fact squarely in his mind. Until… he appeared on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopolous” when George (I’m not typing that hellish last name) asked him about Social Security and how he would pay for it. (more…)

Sen. Ted Stevens Indicted

In a move that is surprising and unsurprising at the exact same time, Senator Ted Stevens (R) of Alaska was indicted on seven counts of failure to disclose gifts. You might know Stevens as the man who secured the money for the infamous “bridge to nowhere” which is pretty much the epitomy of pork barrel spending. (more…)

Mythbusters On The Moon this August!?

That’s right, in the coming weeks, in their 106th episode the Mythbuster’s will be landing on the moon. Much in the style of Neil Armstrong’s landing and walk in July of 1969. (more…)

The Lone American Voter in Berlin

I do have a test today. that wasn’t bullshit. It’s on European socialism. I mean, really, what’s the point? I’m not European. I don’t plan on being European. So who cares if they’re socialists? They could be fascist anarchists. It still doesn’t change the fact that I don’t own a car. Not that I condone fascism, or any -ism for that matter. -Ism’s in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself.

Why Democrats Shouldn’t Be Vindictive This Fall

Regardless of what happens with the Presidential election this November it’s probably a safe bet that the Democrats will increase their majority in both the House and the Senate. I haven’t been paying heavy attention to the Congressional races but those that I’ve seen seem to suggest that a large chunk of Republican seats are in danger of changing sides and that with a distrust and distaste for the Republican brand still lingering in the country, A “D” next to the name is probably much more palatable. Many of the Democrats are also embracing Obama’s message of “Change” and seem willing to uphold that mantle.

Will Wright allows Benidict XVI to play as God

Wheres my mouse and keyboard when you need them?

"Where's my mouse and keyboard when I need them?"

It’s awfully hard to get this one blog started. Hm… but where to begin. Well why not start here:

“And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
