In an interesting move earlier today, John McCain introduced his 2008 Vice Presidential nominee, Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin. As a registered Republican, I am deeply surprised at this decision, but am anxious to learn more about Palin.

So this one is kind of awkward. I’m not understanding why this necessary. Now before you start yelling at your computer screen let me note, I’m a big baseball fan. When it comes to Chicago we have two teams, which means big rivalry, I also have a third team to root for when the Chicago teams (NL: Cubs, AL: White Sox) aren’t seen in the Washington D.C. media outlet (NL: Washington Nationals, formally the Senators). I have also played baseball for nearly half my life, until an accident which left both of my legs shattered. After 3+ years of reconstructive surgery and therapy I’m about as close as I’m going to get as I was before my accident. After being a player for some time, I switched gears and was an umpire for nearly 5 years in the local kids leagues in the area. So when it comes to baseball, flip a coin and I have experience on both sides of the coin.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is one of those games that keeps looking better and better every time I see it. First announced back in 2005, The Force Unleashed (TFU) was kept behind closed doors with reporters being able to say it existed and what they saw but they couldn’t even comment on the name. Later, tech demos for the game’s revolutionary technologies were shown displaying the combination of Havok (physics), Euphoria (AI), and Digital Molecular Matter (destructible environments). Now, we’ve finally got a demo for a game that promises a strong story and tight gameplay. (more…)
While this story is now several days old, I think many around the world have failed (thus far) to understand the seriousness of the matter. Not only Americans but the rest of the world. (more…)
Continuing the Preseason recap of the Seahawks I’m able to kill two birds with one stone by recapping both Tim and I’s teams with one posting so I’ll get right on it.
The local midday DJ for my radio station (93.5 The Beach) is more or less a complete moron. Every day between 10am to 3pm, “Matt” taps his inner Rush Limbaugh/Bill O’Reilly and goes on a 5 hour rant against the government and Democrats in tirades that are typically hypocritical. A few examples of this is when he labeled the Supreme Court a group of traitors who should be hung because they upheld the Constitution but when they ruled on the 2nd Amendment he was singing their praises. And just the other day someone called up and basically told him to put his money where his mouth is for all his hate speech and warmongering but he pulled the 1st Amendment and tried to defend his idiocy with it, but when rumors came up that George Clooney was going to make a movie about bin Laden’s driver he said that he was a terrorist and shouldn’t be allowed to make the movie. Just typical talk radio hypocrisy. (more…)
My favorite artist, by far, is Matthew Good (both his solo work and the band sharing his name before that). A few months ago he was literally just down the street from me but the show was a 21 and up show so I was unable to go unfortunately. After his stint in the states, he went back up to his native Canada and did a number of shows, one being at Massey Hall. Rumors had been swirling that there would be a live CD made because people there had spotted some equipment for recording. Today he just announced that in fact a live CD will be coming out onto iTunes and then a 2-disc set a later date. (more…)
