Israel Attacks Palestine, Retaliation for Rocket Attacks

I held off on posting this originally because I wasn’t sure if this might just all blow over after a few airstrikes but it looks like it’s escalating. About 24 hours ago, Israel began launching sorties against Palestinian rocket launchers and other security compounds that had been pounding Israel for a few days. Shocker: Time names Barack Obama Person of the Year

Filed under: Uncategorized — Max @ 2:40 PM

In a piece of news that probably came to a surprise to only those who had their heads in the sand, Time Magazine named President-elect Barack Obama as 2008’s Person of the Year. In all honesty, it would’ve been pretty insulting if he hadn’t been named for the position as I can’t really think of anything more groundbreaking than his election.

Other contenders were Tina Fey, Michael Phelps, T. Boone Pickens, Nouri al-Maliki, incoming Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.

Last night during the Spike TV Video Game Awards, it was announced that Gears 2 was receiving it’s first map pack, titled the Combustion Map Pack and it would be released later that night, 12 am PST to be exact. The fact that there was a map pack didn’t really surprise anyone because a mere 10 days after the release, the first screenshots of a map titled “Imulsion” appeared on Joystiq. Now, 5 weeks later, Microsoft just released three new maps for the game in the pack for $10. While that’s the regular price point for map packs, this time around it seems like Microsoft might be going for a money grab… (more…)
