Alan Colmes Leaving “Hannity & Colmes”

I left this one alone since I first read it Sunday night in case Tim picked it up seeing as Fox News is his channel of choice but I guess I’ll take this one out for a spin. Fox News announced that Alan Colmes, the liberal counterpart to Sean Hannity will be leaving the show at the end of the year to pursue other career opportunities within Fox, such as a weekend program. He’ll continue to be a political analyst and his radio program will still be broadcast. As of right now, Sean Hannity will most likely continue to host the “Hannity & Colmes” for the time being. The Wonders of An (Almost) Unlimited Campaign Budget

Over on First Read (MSNBC’s Political Blog) they have received word followed by subsequent updates that the Obama camp has gone ahead and purchased a 30 minute timeslot on the three major networks on October 29th, with Fox still undecided due to the World Series. NBC has confirmed that their timeslot is at 8 pm, right at the beginning of primetime programming. No other information has come out as to what this chunk of time would be devoted to but we can assume that whatever it is, the campaign thinks it’s important enough to throw an enormous amount of money around to get the message across.

Instant Replay Comes To Baseball

So this one is kind of awkward. I’m not understanding why this necessary. Now before you start yelling at your computer screen let me note, I’m a big baseball fan. When it comes to Chicago we have two teams, which means big rivalry, I also have a third team to root for when the Chicago teams (NL: Cubs, AL: White Sox) aren’t seen in the Washington D.C. media outlet (NL: Washington Nationals, formally the Senators). I have also played baseball for nearly half my life, until an accident which left both of my legs shattered. After 3+ years of reconstructive surgery and therapy I’m about as close as I’m going to get as I was before my accident. After being a player for some time, I switched gears and was an umpire for nearly 5 years in the local kids leagues in the area. So when it comes to baseball, flip a coin and I have experience on both sides of the coin.

Thank-You David Shuster, Thank-You

I was watching Hardball a few minutes ago, swalling some Mac & Cheese after getting my Wisdom Teeth out earlier today, and I saw him bring two Republican Democrats who were ranting and raving about the election. It’s not often you see a media network anchor get as tough with them as David Shuster did when he was interviewing them about the whole Clinton/Obama primary clusterf*ck. These punks (that’s all they are) were babbling on about how the process was un-Democratic and how they’re going to vote for McCain in order to bring about change in the DNC leadership. Now, I’ll admit that the process was a mess and that it needs to be fixed for the next go around (hopefully Obama won’t be challenged by a resurgent Clinton in 2012), but Democracy is never perfect and this was the best we could do with the cards that we were dealt. But that’s not what this post was about. (more…)

That’s right, in the coming weeks, in their 106th episode the Mythbuster’s will be landing on the moon. Much in the style of Neil Armstrong’s landing and walk in July of 1969. (more…)
